Advanced Placement

The program director is responsible for evaluating transfer and advanced placement credit. College policies concerning advanced placement in the academic division are stated in the College Catalog.

For entry into the Phlebotomy Program: Currently employed phlebotomists who meet admission requirements and provide documentation from the employer, will be permitted to enroll in PBT 1113, and will not be required to take PBT 1122. For those who have been employed in a patient care position (phlebotomist, CNA. LPN, etc) for at least six months within the past five years (with documentation from the employer), the biology course requirement will be waived.

For entry into the MLT Program: Students who successfully complete the MDCC Phlebotomy program (PBT 1113 and PBT 1122) and have been selected into the Medical Laboratory Technology program may waive enrollment in MLT 1112 Fundamentals of Medical Laboratory / Phlebotomy if all eligibility requirements have been meet.
