Mississippi Delta Community College Ranked Among Top 15% of U.S. Vocational Schools for Second Consecutive Year
MOORHEAD, Miss. (Aug. 10, 2026) — Mississippi Delta Community College has been named one of America’s Top Vocational Schools for 2026 by USA TODAY, marking the second consecutive year the college has received the national recognition. MDCC is one of only six institutions in Mississippi to receive the designation this year.
MDCC ranked among the top 15% of approximately 1,800 vocational institutions evaluated nationwide. The college was also included on USA TODAY’s 2025 list of America’s Top Vocational Schools.
The ranking recognizes institutions that provide vocational education through undergraduate certificate and diploma programs. Schools were evaluated using key performance indicators in five areas: graduation rate, graduate salary, time required to recover the net cost of attendance, social mobility and diversity.
The analysis used data from publicly available sources, including the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and the College Scorecard.
“We are honored to once again be recognized by USA Today as one of the nation’s Top 250 Vocational Schools,” MDCC President Steven Jones said. “Earning this distinction for the second consecutive year reflects the unwavering commitment of our exceptional faculty and staff, who work every day to provide our students with a high-quality, career-focused education.
“At the heart of this achievement are the passion, expertise, and dedication of the people who make our college such a special place. Our faculty and staff are committed to helping students gain the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to succeed in today’s workforce. We are proud of this achievement, grateful for the recognition and inspired to continue delivering the outstanding educational experience our students and communities deserve.”
“This recognition is a testament to the outstanding work of our career-technical education faculty, staff and students,” Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Valarie Morgan said. “At MDCC, we are committed to providing high-quality programs that prepare students for meaningful careers and lifelong success. Our instructors bring expertise, passion and a genuine commitment to student achievement, and we are grateful for the trust our students place in us every day.
“Being recognized nationally is an honor, but what makes me most proud is the impact
our Trojan family has on the communities we serve. We look forward to continuing to
expand opportunities and empower the next generation of workforce leaders.”
