MDCC Launches Esports Program for Fall 2025: Competitive Gaming Now Part of Trojan Athletics

MOORHEAD, MS (July 30, 2025) – Mississippi Delta Community College (MDCC) is excited to announce the launch of its new Esports program, set to debut in the Fall 2025 semester. This innovative initiative represents a major step in enhancing student involvement and aligning with the dynamic interests of today’s college students.
 
MDCC has officially registered its Esports program with the National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE) and has hired Ja'Coby Braboy as the college’s first Esports coach. Scholarship opportunities are available for student-athletes who participate in the program. To be eligible, students must be enrolled in at least 15 credit hours and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA.
 
The MDCC Esports team will compete in a wide range of popular titles, including League of Legends, Call of Duty, Fortnite, Rocket League, Valorant, Overwatch, NBA 2K, Madden NFL, Super Smash Bros, and more.
