engagement, and personal growth.”
“Esports has quickly become a global phenomenon, with colleges and universities across
the country and around the world recognizing its value in student recruitment, retention,
and campus life,” added Jones. “Competitive gaming is more than a trend—it is a thriving
industry that fosters teamwork, strategy, and digital literacy. By introducing Esports
at MDCC, we are positioning ourselves to meet the interests of today’s students while
preparing them for tomorrow’s careers.”

career paths in tech and media, and build lasting connections in a supportive environment.”
Coach Ja'Coby Braboy expressed his enthusiasm for the new program: “I am truly honored
to be part of the MDCC athletics department and excited about the opportunity to help
position MDCC as a significant force in the esports community, not just across Mississippi,
