Milwaukee Tool Makes Large Donation to MDCC

MOORHEAD, Miss. (May 9, 2023) – In April, Milwaukee Tool made a very sizeable donation of tools and batteries to Mississippi Delta Community College (MDCC).

According to Executive Director of College Advancement and Alumni Affairs Jim Aycock, who facilitated the donation, Milwaukee Tool contacted MDCC and asked if the college could use the donation.

“We told them we would certainly accept the donation but weren’t expecting the quantity that we got,” said Aycock. “Not only was there every tool you could think of but five more that you’d never heard of.”

Aycock went on to say that when an 18-wheeler arrived at MDCC on the day that the donation was to be received, no one expected that the entire load was for Mississippi Delta.

“It was over 26 pallets of tools,” Aycock continued. “They just kept unloading them, and when they finished that 18-wheeler, there were even more tools.”

MDCC’s Career-Technical Education (CTE) program wasn’t the only institution of learning to benefit from Milwaukee Tool’s generosity. Several high schools and CTE programs also received donations.

“We’re dedicated to providing support and resources to the wonderful people in our surrounding Mississippi communities,” said Manufacturing Engineering Manager Bailey Tatum on behalf of the Milwaukee Service Community Impact team.

Like the rest of the CTE department at MDCC, Dean of Career-Technical and Adult Education Suzanne Thompson is thankful for Milwaukee’s donation.

“We are very grateful for the very generous amount of tools donated by Milwaukee. It will benefit our students greatly,” said Thompson.
